Solemn relief in the Plaza of the Armory. First Wednesday of the month, 12: 00h.
The Solemn Relay recalls what was done daily in the days of Alfonso XII and Alfonso XIII. In the Plaza de la Armería, a series of stages can be seen, for forty minutes, lancers and halberdiers, soldiers and artillery pieces with ammunition carts, more than 400 people and 100 horses staging the relay of the outgoing and incoming guards. The act, which lasts about 50 minutes, ends with a concert by the Music Unit of the Royal Guard, which takes place in the auction of the Puerta del Príncipe.
The entrance is free through the Puerta de Santiago, which gives access to the Plaza de la Armería from Calle Bailén.
Change of the Guard, on Wednesdays between 11am. And 14h. In the Puerta del Príncipe.
It consists of the establishment of two sentinel posts on foot (every 30 minutes) and two sentinels on horseback (every hour).
